RAKSHA by Frankie Rose Blog Tour & Review

Blurb:

She has no name.

She has her knives, her training, and her halo.

The first and second give her the ability to defeat the opponents she is pitted against each month. The third frees her from pain and fear. From any kind of emotion at all. Everything is as it should be. Everything is as it should be, until…

Fear… Pain… Anger… Happiness… Desire… Guilt…

Love.

When a newly named Kit escapes the Sanctuary after killing her best friend, the last thing she needs is another knife in her hand. Or Ryka, the damaged, beautiful blond boy, whom she refuses to let save her. The sights and sounds of Freetown are new, yet one thing is familiar: the matches. The only difference? Where the blood in the Sanctuary landed only on the Colosseum floor, Kit will quickly learn that a river of red runs through Freetown’s very streets.

Without her halo, the inhabitants of Kit’s new home consider her saved, but is that really the case? Would she be better off free of the guilt associated with all the blood on her hands, or is the love of one boy worth living through all the pain?

Raksha is the call of the dead. It is the rumbling chant for fresh blood from the other side, the demand for sacrifice. The Colosseum is behind Kit. The fighting pits await.

Review:

Oh my goodness,it you want some non-stop action then this is the book for you. My heart started racing from the beginning and hasn't stopped even after I finished reading it.I sit here trying to process it all.
So if you lived you whole life one way then you free yourself just to find yourself in a similar predicament just different surroundings, would you go back to what you are comfortable with or would you explore the new?
In Lockdown,Kit has grown up not knowing emotions or pain. All she knows is how to follow orders and to fight. She loves to fight and has never questioned the cruelty of it all. Atleast not until she is pinned in a fight against her best friend and finds herself fleeing Lockdown.
On the run from her past with raw emotions she has no idea how to process,Kit finds herself in a new community called Freetown. But here in Freetown she still isn't free completely. As she tries to understand the laws of this new community and tries to figure out the crazy emotions she feels around Ryka, she is torn between wanting to be numb again or learning to deal with her  emotions.
Freetown elects its own leader but they ultimately must follow the Priestess that live in the Keep.Just like Lockdown Freetown has fighters but they are not fighters because of there bloodline, they are fighters because the High Priestess calls them to be.They see this as an honor. But there is on law about the Pit where they fight, that they neglect to tell Kit which inevitably leaves Kit in a dangerous predicament.
Being on the High Priestess's bad side seems to be the least of Kit's worries when she embarks on a mission back to Lockdown to help free others. But can they succeed in their mission? Will Kit be able to rescue her brother and convince him to leave Lockdown?Or will this mission be their undoing?
Follow Kit,Ryka,Olivia,Jack, and few others as they try to find themselves and where they belong in life. Some will survive, some will perish, smeo will fulfill what they believe to be their destiny while breaking the hearts of those that love them, and secrets you never see coming will leave you in shock.
